About Us

Your Journey, Our Purpose

A Story of Transformation

Pelvic Mechanics began with a simple but powerful belief: pelvic health deserves better care. Our founder, Whitney Ellsworth, was drawn to pelvic floor physical therapy after seeing firsthand how it could change lives—including her own.

From Patient To Provider

In 2011 Whitney birthed her baby girl via cesarean after longer labor lead to fetal distress. Though her baby was healthy and her recovery went well, Whitney longed for a natural birth experience and pursued a VBAC for her second pregnancy. Unfortunately, “purple pushing” and an episiotomy left her pelvic floor weak and injured. Struggling to recover, she quickly realized how few resources were available to help women like her in the postpartum period.

Determined to heal and help others, Whitney trained in pelvic floor physical therapy and became passionate about providing care that addresses the whole body. Her personal experiences with pelvic health—including recovering from diastasis recti after a twin pregnancy—gave her a unique perspective and a deep understanding of her patients’ struggles.

As a licensed physical therapist with nearly 20 years of experience, Whitney blends her expertise in Movement Systems Impairment (MSI) with her focus on pelvic floor dysfunction to create a comprehensive, individualized treatment approach known as the R.I.S.E. Method (Release, Isolate, Strengthen, Evolve). This unique method, alongside her certifications in pelvic physical therapy, birth healing, and breastfeeding counseling, allows Whitney to offer effective and holistic care.

In 2019, Whitney founded Pelvic Mechanics with the goal of helping women reclaim their strength and health. Through her personal experience and clinical knowledge, she and her team are dedicated to offering compassionate care and empowering women to overcome pelvic health challenges.
